CHRISTMAS PARTY December 22nd. Bring a friend night.

CARNIVAL tentatively scheduled for March 5th. There will be an admission charged, as this is a fundraiser for the club.

STORM DAY CANCELLATIONSCanSkate will not be cancelled due to storms unless the Arena closes. In this event, we will broadcast the closure on the local radio stations.

BRING A FRIEND DAY Look for notices in the future.

HEAD COACH Annette Hiltz
If you need to speak to Annette, please feel free to do so after CanSkate but not while she is on the ice.

BADGES Annette will award badges throughout the year as the skater successfully performs the various skills and demonstrates a readiness to move to the next level. The focus should be enjoyment and the development of good skating skills. Please encourage your child to deep trying in moments of frustration.

CLOTHING We strongly recommend helmets and mittens. Comfortable pants are preferable to snow pants. No scarves please and it is not safe to wear a hat under the helmet.
Skates with lots of support are best. Molded skates are not recommended because they are cold and do not allow much movement. The skater should be able to wiggle the toes and there should be room for a pencil to be inserted down the back of the skate.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY We recommend parents or designated guardians stay to watch their child, not only for safety reasons, but so you can celebrate your childs progress with them. If you are not able to stay you should make arrangements for someone else to be responsible for your child. The coaches cannot leave the ice to take skaters to the bathroom or to tie skates.

INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION If you have a keen skater who would benefit from individual instruction now or in the future, please inquire about our other figure skating programs. A skater does not have to earn all the CanSkate badges in order to move on to individual lessons.
